This research aims to explain the important role of role playing in the development of social-emotional aspects of early childhood. This study uses a literature study method by collecting information from various sources of books, journals and relevant previous research results. The research results show that play is a key activity in early childhood development, helping them develop social and emotional skills before interacting with peers. The role of parents and teachers is very important in providing stimulation and stimulus to children in controlling emotions, working together, and being kind to friends from an early age. Play has many functions and benefits, including learning, socialization, emotional expression, physical development, and creativity. Sociodrama, as a learning method that involves the dramatization of social situations, also has an important role in teaching children to understand social problems and express their feelings. This method allows children to learn more deeply about social issues, develop empathy, and improve their social skills. Thus, the sociodrama method becomes an effective tool in teaching and understanding social problems for children. This research concludes that role playing and sociodrama methods are important components in early childhood education that pay attention to social-emotional development. This approach helps children grow into individuals who can interact well in society and understand social norms and deal with their feelings. Therefore, early childhood education that supports role playing and sociodrama has a vital role in the overall development of children
