Introduction: Spirituality has been gaining prominence in Palliative Care (PC) in oncology, being considered an essential dimension for patients and healthcare professionals. The imple mentation of PC services in Brazil and the discussion about the importance of spirituality wi thin this context are relatively recent. This study presents the importance of spirituality in Pal liative Care and the challenges of integrating it. Objectives: The objective of this research is to analyze the importance of spirituality in oncological palliative care, identify the benefits for patients and professionals, and propose strategies for its integration. Methodology: This is a methodological study that combines elements of descriptive quali-quantitative research with an Integrative Literature Review (ILR). Results: Through the ILR, 10 studies were selected for analysis, all focusing on spirituality within the context of palliative care. It was evidenced that spirituality is essential for emotional support and coping with the disease by patients and their families. Discussion: Spirituality can benefit patients, families, and healthcare professio nals in palliative care, especially in the face of the imminence of the end of life or death. However, as a new field of approach, healthcare professionals face difficulties in integrating it.
