The aim was to determine the performance in the cognitive styles test of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity (ADHD) and to establish the cognitive profile of these two populations. The sample consisted of 50 boys and girls belonging to the Institute for the Integral Development of Children with Autism (DINA) and attending the Rafael Henao Toro Children's Hospital in Manizales, Caldas; the Masked Figures Test for Children (CEFT) was applied to measure the cognitive styles construct. It was determined that there were statistically significant differences between groups in the cognitive styles test score, finding that children with ASD present a perceptual field independent cognitive profile; on the contrary, it is evident that children with ADHD have a predominantly perceptual field dependent profile.
