The present text tries to serve as a mechanism of catharsis in the face of the uncertainty that the current time brings to the personal and work spheres of the subjects. Hence, the reflection is based on an interdisciplinary bibliographic review on critical thinking; as a constitutive element of education, with a view to accounting for the invisible, tacit and productive consensus, in which life moves in these times. A scenario, where materialism and hyperautonomy have favored the fragilization of the subject, as a product of the exaltation of individualism and material accumulation, which makes the consumer society, even impacting on their learning process and citizen and professional training. And whose most devastating effect is in the activation of a management model based on instruments in the subject -of the means, not ends-, which ends up showing how ephemeral and controlled our existence is.
