Applications of Nanomaterials for Energy Generation and Storage

Abstract

The promise of nanoscience is due to the fact that at the nanoscale, new properties and phenomena arise, as compared to those at the larger scale. Along with minimization and compactness, it offers the precise handling of the atoms to design new properties or modify the existing ones. This ability to understand and control matter at the nanoscale could be used to enhance existing products or develop new ones. Some of the beneficial aspects of the nanoscale are shown in Figure 15.1.
