Green Human Resource Management for Employee Management and Sustainability Practices

Abstract

Employee engagement (EE) and sustainability practices (SP) are supported in firms via the use of green human resource management (GHRM), a human resource management strategy. To achieve both environmental and social sustainability, this approach entails incorporating environmental concerns into human resource management processes, policies, and practices. The current study aimed to ascertain how GHRM affected employee engagement and environmental sustainability, with a focus on Bahraini manufacturing businesses. The uniqueness of this study was noted in the mediating function of employee involvement. Employees of Bahraini manufacturing companies, including officers, staff members, and clerical workers, provided the data, which was gathered from companies that try to apply green methods. Organizations can develop a sustainability culture that benefits the environment and the workforce by putting into practice strategies like environmental training, green employee engagement programs, sustainable recruitment techniques, employee involvement in sustainability initiatives, and sustainable performance management.
