Metaverse and Industry 4.0

Abstract

Metaverse is an innovative and collective virtual shared space and internet application that integrates varied new technologies and has thereby impacted all diverse sectors. It has brought a disruption by integrating features of sociality, multi-technology, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), interoperability, and immersive technologies. It seems like an iteration of the internet, a 3D virtual space where humans experience virtual world beyond the imagination of reality. The intersection of Metaverse and Industry 4.0 represents a potential disruption across varied sectors like education, healthcare, travel, digital payments, digital currency, IT sector, and many other business services. In this chapter, a survey and study will be done on how metaverse and Industry 4.0 have disrupted these sectors and redefined their method to operate, innovate, collaborate, and flourish. Also, a study will be done on its challenges related to data security, privacy, and ethical use of advanced technologies, and a model framework will be proposed accordingly.
