Evolution of Mn–Bi2O3 from the Mn-doped Bi3O4Br electro(pre)catalyst during the oxygen evolution reaction

Abstract

Bi 3 O 4 Br appears to be nearly inactive for the alkaline oxygen evolution reaction while Mn II doping into Bi 3 O 4 Br alters its electronic structure and makes it OER active. Mn–Bi 2 O 3 evolves as the reactive species from the Mn–Bi 3 O 4 Br pre-catalyst.
