Increasing Security of Containerized Blockchain using SDN

Abstract

This paper focuses in identifying whether Software Defined Networks technology can be used to in-crease security in dynamic environments in a containerized blockchain network. Security increase is measured in terms of service availability against DDoS type of threats. A testing environment is built for the sole purpose of evaluating the proposed solution. Results obtained suggest that the use of SDN technology can allow the prompt detection of DDoS attacks and can assist the mitigation of these attacks through the use of the framework developed as part of this research.
