Abstract

To face security program in the urban area, it is necessary to know precisely the phenomena of violence and crime in their different expressions, theoretical approaches and risk factors. It is also important and necessary to analyze the paradigm of citizen security and the main theories, policies and strategies that derive from it and have been proven successful, in order to reach conclusions that are useful for those responsible for this service that, properly exercised, by the public power and society, contribute significantly to the achievement of the objectives of sustainable development.
