Earthquake monitoring using fibre-optic distributed acoustic sensing

Abstract

We review the use of distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) for monitoring earthquakes and other seismic waves using telecom optical cables, as well as novel signal processing approaches that exploit the spatiotemporal information contained in DAS seismic measurements.
