Abstract

This chapter provides a detailed exploration of the processes of expert witness testimonies, specifically looking at the American court system and looking at substantive and procedural law, criminal law, civil law, and administrative law. Then it gives specific examples of historical rulings and how those cases have changed the way courts proceed now such as the Frye ruling and the Daubert ruling. Finally, it looks at the process of testifying, both its practical and ethical considerations.
