Abstract

The development of thinking skills has become a pedagogical tool, which seeks to involve the teacher in communication with his students. The objective is to evaluate the performance level of critical thinking, evidenced by the students of first and last semesters of college in each stage of their formation; a quantitative-cross-sectional, non-experimental was used; the measurement instrument to evaluate the five skills was the PENCRISAL. The final results allowed us to infer that the global score of the test presents a medium of (5%) and low of (95%); likewise, in the first and last semesters, the students on average are at a low level, without ignoring that, in the last semesters of each program, the average is better. This implies that critical thinking has not developed as expected in the students evaluated; It is important to develop higher forms of reasoning, that allow generating critical, reflective, decision-making and problem-solving attitudes.
