Performance Analysis of SWIPT Cooperative Relay Network with Ambient Backscatter

Abstract

Ambient Backscatter (AB) is considered as one of the effective techniques to reduce the communication energy consumption. This work investigates the outage performance of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) cooperative relay network based on ambient backscatter. The analytical expressions of the outage probability for the primary user and the secondary user are derived. The performance is compared with that of the traditional SWIPT cooperative relay network. The theoretical derivation is validated by simulations. And the simulation results demonstrate that the system throughput and energy efficiency of the SWIPT cooperative relay network using ambient backscatter are superior to that without ambient backscatter.
