A High Gain n257 Frequency Band Supported MIMO Antenna for 5G Applications

Abstract

This paper describes a low-profile, high-gain, coplanar two-element multiple-input multiple-output antenna designed for the n257 frequency band, supporting 5G applications. The co-planar ground plane with a microstrip line has been designed to accommodate a low insertion loss compression connector (H2.4-LR-SR2) properly, ensuring good impedance matching. A metallic T-slotted stub has been placed between the antenna elements, and a rectangular slit has been etched from the common ground plane to enhance isolation. The proposed antenna operates in the frequency band from 26 GHz to 30 GHz with less than −23 dB mutual coupling and a peak gain of 7 dB.
