Three-axis wind tunnel balance design.Wind tunnels correspond to a tool for experimentally simulating the aerodynamic flow over bodies of interest. To make the most of the wind tunnel at the Mechatronics Laboratory of the Center for Energy Research -CEPEL, it was understood as essential to develop a three-axis balance, as through the measurements of lift, drag, and pitching moment, the projects and studies conducted by the team would be complemented by experimental data. Some factors, such as the laboratory's field of application and the wind tunnel specifications, guide the choice of the balance's structural model. After defining the instrumentation's design, mechanical and electronic components are selected in detail, ensuring the robustness of the final equipment.Calibration and measurement uncertainty analysis processes also present themselves as crucial stages of the project. And finally, to prove the functionality of the developed tool, validation is carried out using a test body with previously known results.
