Abstract

We seek to analyze the articulation of social agents (professionals from the child protection network, adolescents and their families) in the face of the situation of abandonment and evasion of adolescents in state schools in Limeira/SP.In addition to understanding the motivations of the phenomenon and its multiple dimensions, we aim to understand "how" the government is mobilized to face the issue, whether these actions are coordinated or not, how the communication processes between public policy agents and their consequences for the possibility of improvement in school dropout rates.In the light of the categories Interdisciplinarity, Intersectoriality, Social Participation and Youth Protagonism, the problem was investigated through semi-structured interviews with educators, tutors, public policy professionals, adolescents and a family member.As a result, we observed that this is a complex problem with several factors that favor the occurrence of dropout and dropout, factors that belong to the school, socioeconomic, family and adolescent uniqueness dimensions, which intertwine and make its resolution difficult and point to vulnerability social as a risk context for the phenomenon.The conceptions of public agents about the problem influence the strategies adopted to face the issue, and several actions that have taken place in recent years have been mentioned by them.Inclusive or excluding actions can occur in the spheres of public policies, minimizing or reinforcing the young people's removal from school.At the end, some possibilities for facing this complex and multifaceted problem will be pointed out, counting on the contributions of the research participants.
