With the article in question, we aim to understand and discuss an approach to the use of play as a facilitating instrument in learning in elementary school I.The purpose is to present the construction of teaching-learning through play methodology by teachers in the classroom, seeking to constitute the differentiation between the teacher's traditional class proposal and what occurs in the practical pedagogical development with the application of playful activities.This study is a traditional, non-systematic, descriptive, qualitative and bibliographic literature review.The results revealed that teachers seek in pedagogical practice, using games and games, to produce their knowledge and knowledge of children.It is concluded that, although teachers report the application of play at school, as well as their interactions, among them pertinent to this tool that causes better student learning, during classes in the classroom, the play pedagogical methodology is still far from achieving its objective and through its practice as a learning facilitating instrument continues to generate positive effects in teaching-learning aimed at students.
