Research on Recovery Strategy of Wind Turbine Speed Considering Wind Speed Fluctuation

Abstract

After a wind turbine completes frequency regulation action, it is necessary to restore its speed to a stable operation point. During the speedy recovery stage, two effects occur: a large time scale of speed recovery of about tens of seconds or even minutes, and wind speed fluctuations. This paper proposes a speedy recovery strategy considering wind speed fluctuations. The strategy considers the influence of wind speed fluctuation and the electromechanical power reference value, which is dynamically adjusted to safely and smoothly restore the speed. The proposed strategy is verified through simulation comparison of recovery strategies in different scenarios, and results show an improvement in speedy recovery after wind turbine participation in frequency regulation.
