A Broadband Circularly Polarized Magneto electric Dipole Antenna

Abstract

In this paper, a wideband circularly polarized (CP) magneto electric dipole (MED) antenna is designed. Firstly, the application of CP antenna and substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) in the field of antenna is introduced. Then, the structure of the antenna designed is proposed. It is further concluded that the antenna belongs to left-hand circular polarization (LHCP). Finally, the simulation results show that the final antenna impedance bandwidth is 28.07% (21.95-29.12GHz), and the axial ratio(AR) bandwidth of 3dB is 20.73% (22.22-27.36GHz). The antenna has the advantages of wideband, easy integration, simple structure and so on.
