COVID-19 Detection Using Convolutional Neural Networks from Chest X-Ray Images

Abstract

Across the globe, as of 22 May 2021, more than 16 crores people have been infected by Coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19. World Health Organization has declared it a global pandemic. More than 34 lakhs people have lost their lives. One of the main reasons for people's death is the lack of fast testing mechanism. In many places, the current existing covid test takes around 48 hours to get the results. And also, some underdeveloped countries are not in a situation to purchase laboratory kits for testing. This is one of the main reasons for the rapid increase in the cases which lead to a dreadful situation. A new rapid testing method would benefit both patients and doctors. So we propose a method that gives us the results instantly by taking the chest x-ray images as input.
