Abstract

—In today’s digital age, many smartphone users tend to consume their news through social media platforms rather than traditional internet sources. Since news sites share the latestupdates with sources to verify their authenticity, the challenge remains to discern the credibility of news and social media articles. There are many social media sites such as whatsapp, facebook and twitter. Harnessing the power of ML and NLP, this article introduces a model and methodology to detect fake or misleading news. The outcomes of the proposed model were compared to those of the current models, with an impressive accuracy of 93.6 percent demonstrating its efficacy in accurately identifying fake news.
