CITRA ORANG TUA DALAM NOVEL ``KELUARGA CEMARA`` KARYA ARSWENDO ATMOWILOTO

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan citra orang tua yang tergambar dalam novel Keluarga Cemara karangan Arswendo Atmowiloto. Pendekatan yang diaplikasikan dalam penelitian ini ialah deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa citra orang tua dibagi menjadi empat jenis, yakni citra ayah dalam hubungannya dengan diri sendiri, citra ayah dalam hubungannya dengan keluarga, citra ibu dalam hubungannya dengan diri sendiri, dan citra ibu dalam hubungannya dengan keluarga. Citra tokoh ayah dan ibu digambarkan sebagai orang tua yang mampu bekerjasama dengan baik dalam mendidik anak, orang tua yang bekerja keras demi mengupayakan perekonomian keluarga untuk kebahagian anak, orang tua yang tegas dalam mengambil setiap keputusan, orang tua yang penuh kasih sayang dalam mendampingi tumbuh-kembang anak, orang tua yang mampu bersikap adil terhadap anak sehingga tidak terjadi kecemburuan sosial antara ketiga anaknya, dan orang tua yang berhasil menjadi sosok panutan dan pedoman dalam keluarga. This study aims to describe the image of parents depicted in the novel Keluarga Cemara by Arswendo Atmowiloto. The approach applied in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the image of parents is divided into four types, namely the image of the father in relation to oneself, the image of the father in relation to the family, the image of the mother in relation to oneself, and the image of the mother in relation to the family. The image of father and mother figures is described as parents who are able to work well together in educating children, parents who work hard to strive for the family's economy for the happiness of children, parents who are firm in making every decision, parents who are full of affection in accompanying their growth. child development, parents who are able to be fair to children so that there is no social jealousy between their three children, and parents who have succeeded in becoming role models and guidelines in the family.
