Training for research is a challenge for academics in the area methodology in higher education programs. For these reasons, this article is aimed at deepening the formation of investigative skills in university students from initial training, based on the current demands imposed by society as a result of the emergence and development of information technologies and communication in the world. Consequently, a bibliographical review is carried out about the formation of investigative competences, its main characteristics, aimed at solving the insufficiencies that are present in the research results of the students and due to the importance, that it has for the acquisition not only knowledge and skills, but also in the formation of attitudes that allow satisfactory responses to professional performance.
