Facile Synthesis of Highly Stretchable, Tough, and Photodegradable Hydrogels (Adv. Healthcare Mater. 22/2023)

Abstract

Biosensors In article 2300918 by Ana C. Fonseca, Jorge F. J. Coelho, and co-workers, a simple method for preparing highly stretchable, tough, and photodegradable double-network hydrogels using ortho-nitrobenzyl (ONB) crosslinkers with different poly(ethylene glycol) sizes is reported. The stringent design of ONB structures enables the control of degradation time. The properties of these hydrogels pave the way for a new generation of environmentally friendly substrates that can be used for bioelectronics.
