Kerr Comb Generation in Normal-dispersion, Bi-directionally Coupled Microresonators

Abstract

We design bi-directionally coupled microresonators to lift the degeneracy of counter-propagating modes and control nonlinear dynamics in the normal-dispersion regime. We demonstrate controllable mode-splitting and Kerr-comb generation without any nanoscale patterns.
