Performance Evaluation of 32 Channel Wavelength Division Multiplexed Radio over Fiber(RoF) Communication System

Abstract

Increasing demand for large channel capacity and high data rate led to advancement in WDM based RoF communication system. Its performance efficiency can further be enhanced and upgrade with suitable modulation techniques and dispersion compensation schemes. We proposed a 32 channel WDM based RoF communication system using indirect modulation technique and fiber bragg grating compensation. This system is analysed in Optisystem 16 for transmission distance of 50 Km and 100 Km for different channel spacing of 100GHz, 50 GHz and 25 GHz. We obtained optimum results at 5dBm power level and got maximum Q factor of 13.58 and 10.89 with min BER of 1.86E-42 & 4.99E-28 at 50 Km and 100 Km respectively for 50 GHz spacing. Almost same results are obtained at different transmission distance for different channel spacing. But the Q factor get reduced below the 25GHz channel spacing.
