Smart Wearable Device for Safety Monitoring using IoT

Abstract

A the pace of life accelerates and city living becomes increasingly hectic, parents are finding it more challenging to watch their children's daily commute to school/college. This paper describes a smart wearable device that periodically tracks the student to assure safety. In the event of a problem, parents would be notified through a cell phone so they could respond right away. The communication possible by SMS text is the main subject of this article. The smart wearable device incorporates the use of the Firebase cloud database to store real-time values. This enables the device to maintain an up-to-date record of the monitored parameters. With a few keywords, parents can Text a device, and it will respond. A child's heartbeat, body temperature, ambient temperature, and humidity can all be detected by the gadget and the child's approximate location. The apparatus will contain safety features including an alarm buzzer and an SOS light in case of an emergency, alerting onlookers to assist the child.
