Dual-Band Self-Decoupled MIMO Antenna for 5G Mobile Terminals

Abstract

A dual-band multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) antenna with self-decoupled characteristic for 5G mobile terminals is presented in this paper. The proposed MIMO antenna possess a simple structure, which consists of two identical antenna elements placed very closely with an edge-to-edge spacing of only 0.012 λ 0 at 3.5 GHz. The simulated results show that the -10 dB impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna are 180 MHz (3.42-3.60 GHz) in the low band and 290 MHz (4.75-5.04 GHz) in the high band, and isolation better than -18.4 dB at both two bands are achieved, which provides a promising solution to compact 5G MIMO mobile terminal antennas.
