Abstract

Polymerized film of Patton and Reeder's was prepared on to the surface of carbon paste electrode in alkaline solution by cyclic voltammetric (CV) technique after pretreatment by H2SO4 media. The poly(PR) film coated on carbon paste electrode (CPE) exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of dopamine (DA), ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA) in acetate buffer solution at pH 5.4. The modified CPE showed excellent electrocatalytic activity for selective detection of DA in the presence of AA and UA. Detection limit of DA was 1x10-8M. The present technique provides a novel method for selective determination of DA, AA and UA in biological sample.
