Synthesis of Graphene/Copper Oxide Nanocomposites for Supercapacitor Applications

Abstract

Rapid development in the field of automobiles and electronics industries has led to so many issues such as large backup devices, increased usage of electronic devices and power plants. Graphene transition metal oxides can be used to solve such issues in electronic industries. An elaborative review of recent advancements in the synthesis and applications of graphene–copper oxide composites is discussed in this chapter. Graphene, graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (RGO) with copper or copper oxide composites have excellent mechanical strength, conductivity and high thermal stability; hence, they find applications as supercapacitors, energy storage devices and portable electronics. The capacitance of various composite materials such as copper–graphene–GO is also discussed.
