Abstract

Autonomous vehicles are becoming increasingly popular in the market, with some offering remote accessibility. These vehicles rely on the Control Area Network (CAN)bus protocol for communication, which suffers from a lack of encryption, authentication, and fails to satisfy the CIA Triad. As a result, it has several security vulnerabilities that could compromise the safety of society. In the existing system, there is a flaw in cryptography and a possibility of Remote Control Execution (RCE). This paper analyzes the vulnerabilities of the CAN bus and proposes a solution to fix the major RCE vulnerability. Our proposed security measures aim to prevent RCE and provide endpoint security. The results show that our solution is effective in preventing RCE attacks on the CAN bus.
