Abstract

In developing countries, naturally occurring heavy metals contaminate groundwater and are taken into the body as drinking water, resulting in health hazards. We proposed a forward osmosis process using zeolite membranes to remove heavy metals from water. Na–ZSM–5 membrane showed a small solute flux and a high rejection for As, Se and Cr.
