This document exposes the design of a model to create the habit of reading based on a co-creation process with third and fourth grade students, parents and teachers of the José Celestino Mutis Municipal Educational Institution (Fusagasugá). The methodology had a mixed approach, using sources of documentary research and field work, through surveys of 78 students and 11 parents, interviews with four teachers and six experts, the application of a reading log for 21 days and the workshop on co-creation. From the results, it was identified that students like to read, enjoy reading in textbooks and feel that it contributes to the learning process, however, half do not have books at home, and their parents are not motivated to create this habit, so the model proposes to train parents in the formation of said habit.
