Stimulated-Emission Cross-Sections of Trivalent Erbium Ions in the Cubic Sesquioxides Y2O3, Lu2O3, and Sc2O3

Abstract

Stimulated-emission cross-sections for the 4 I 11/2 → 4 I 13/2 and 4 I 13/2 → 4 I 15/2 transitions of Er 3+ ions in three cubic sesquioxides Y 2 O 3 , Lu 2 O 3 and Sc 2 O 3 are revised. The transition probabilities in emission are determined using the Judd-Ofelt theory and lifetime studies.
