Fuzzy Logic Algorithm based MPPT controller for Solar PV Powered Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Abstract

A Fuzzy logic algorithm based MPPT controller is proposed for a solar PV powered, battery supported EV charging station. The storage battery and EV can either charge or discharge as per the requirements. The charging and discharging is controlled by using bidirectional dc-dc converter. A closed loop PI controller with constant current and constant voltage strategy is used for controlling the buck and boost mode of BDDC. The performance of the whole system with FLC algorithm is compared with the conventional Perturb and Observe algorithm with different ambient conditions.
