Flexible and Wearable Applications of MXene/Polymer-Based Nanocomposites

Abstract

MXene/polymer-based nanocomposites are a class of composite materials with unique mechanical, thermal and electrical properties which can be utilized in many applications. The flexible and wearable applications are sort of emerging and most promising fields of nanocomposite applications. The superior properties of MXene/polymer-based nanocomposites, in particular the tensile strength, flexibility, surface terminal groups, conductivity, self-healing nature, and the like, together with its biocompatible and nontoxic nature, lay claim to the material’s relevance in next-generation applications. The present understanding of the material permits its exploitation in the field of sensors, medical care, microdevices, water treatment, energy storage and so on. This chapter deals in detail with the properties of MXene/polymer-based nanocomposites and a great deal of flexible and wearable applications of the materials, depending on the desired properties.
