Abstract

Mxenes are promising two-dimensional materials because of their electrical and thermal conductivity, high surface area and tunable properties. Transition metal carbides, nitrides and carbonitrides are called MXenes. They find wide applications in different fields such as sensors, electromagnetic interference shielding, water purification, energy harvesting, catalysis and others due to their unique properties. This chapter discusses the various fabrication methods of MXene–elastomer nanocomposites and their properties. It also deals with the important applications of nanocomposites and their advantages over other conductive nano-filled systems.
