Today, FMCW-MIMO-based (mm-wave) radar sensors are widely used in automotive and industry because the FMCW-technique has some important advantages over the pulse-echo principle. In this tutorial lecture, it will be shown, that the range, the doppler speed and the angle-of-arrival of multiple targets can be determined efficiently by using FFTs. Additionally, some more challenging topics like clustering, tracking and classification of targets will be addressed based on classical DSP-algorithms and Deep Neural Networks (DNN). Finally, some radar sensing applications will be shown, e.g. for bird migration monitoring, vehicle tracking and gesture recognition.
