BOOK-CHAPTER

Printed SIW cavity-backed slot antenna

Abstract

In this chapter, a compact substrate-integrated waveguide cavity-backed Neptune-shaped slot antenna is introduced for 60 GHz applications. The dimensions of this antenna are 14 × 11.7 × 0.381 mm3 implemented with an RT-Duriod 5880 Rogers substrate and 2.2 dielectric constant. The proposed structure is designed, simulated, validated, and resonates one of frequency is 60 GHz. The percentage of the simulated and measured bandwidth range is 7.24% (ranges from 57.05 to 61.4 GHz, BW = 4.35 GHz) and 6.92% (ranges from 57.05 to 61.2 GHz) and fine radiation patterns are also observed at 60 GHz. The S11 and VSWR gain value at 60 GHz is −25.63 dB.
