Abstract

In the face of fast-growing world, the people's need and demand have changed drastically. Not everyone is dependent on the public transport because of the increase in the travel time and low comfort. People need a vehicle for themselves and their family for an easy commute and comfort. This has led to a boom in the productivity and sales of the automobile industry. The production of automobile has touched 80 to 90 million vehicles per year giving rise to massive amount of 800 million(approx.) vehicle production in the last decade. The traffic density in every part of the world has gone up due to the increase in the automobile production. Traffic congestion is still a major problem to handle especially when it comes to emergency vehicles. An Automatic Traffic Light Control System for Emergency vehicles can come in handy to aid in the swift movement of emergency vehicles through traffic at junctions. The proposed solution uses a NodeMCU micro-controller which has ESP8266 embedded in it and uses Wi-Fi as a communication medium. The vehicle when in range of a signal will be given the control over the signal. The person operating the specific vehicle must input his direction of travel. Based on the direction given, the signal will be changed to clear the traffic in the emergency vehicle's lane.
