IMPROVED CONICAL SOLAR DISTILLER PERFORMANCE

Abstract

Due to pollution from the use of fossil fuels. as well as higher prices for fuel globally. Global warming and climate change have also significantly affected Iraq. It has scarce river and inland water. Thus, potable water has decreased, and most wells are turning their water into salty. Therefore, this study aims to treat water salinity using solar energy. In this research we made a conical solar distiller. from cheap materials. with the addition of some materials in the basin to boost productivity and efficiency. We got an increase in productivity by 15-20%. Also ,from heat transfer , the best value at Tw= 329.9K , Tg= 326.7K, Pw=16720.59 N/m2 ,Pg = 14352.33 N/m2 ,h ew =4.27E+05 W/m2 , hcw= 213.8 W/m2 .
