The 'Internet of Things' technology has brought about a revolution in several ways. IoT has not only given digital devices new powers, but it has also given dependable management solutions unique innovations. Internet of Things enables security in numerous domains. This paper gives an in-depth explanation of a home security prototype, that includes two modules: one for intruder detection and one for gas leak detection. To reduce the chances of explosions in sensitive areas, due to leakage of gas, most preventative measure is to install an effective gas leakage detecting system. The target of this study is to establish a method to detect gas leaks and intruders in the home effortlessly. The system detects gas leaks with a MQ-5 gas sensor, detects burglars with a PIR sensor, and sends an email/sms notice with the IFTTT Web-hooks service. When the amount of gas in the environment surpasses a particular threshold, the MQ5 sensor detects gas leakage, and when the distance of arriving entity exceeds the threshold, the PIR sensor detects motion. When the Arduino detects this, the buzzer begins to sound. The system promptly sends an email and an SMS to the user's provided address. In addition, we did a literature review to compare previous studies.
