Abstract

This book addresses the problems of (1) the relationship between literature, society, and kings in Java and (2) cultural values, among them religious values, ethical values, and social values reflected in the literary works that developed at the time. In the (1) matter discussed the literature in Javanese society, the position of the king in the Javanese society, and the influence of the king on Javanese literary works. In the case of (2) discussed religious values - belief, obedience, obedience, human submission to God -, ethical values - greed, acceptance, mental balance, piety, reason, and social value - .
