Abstract

Department of Chemistry, University of Jodhpur, Jodhpur-342 001 Manuscript received 26 November 1981, revised 20 May 1982, accepted 28 September 1982 The rare-earth chelates of Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Ho(III) and Er(III) with O-(N-\(\propto\)-pyrrolideneimino)benzoic acid (H2NBA) and 2-(\(\propto\)2-oxopropyibenzylidene­imino)propanoic acid (H2BAA), have been synthesised and subjected to spectral and magnetic studies. The magnetic study reveals their high-spin octahedral geometry. The bonding parameters have also been evaluated.
