Compact Multiband HMSIW Antenna Loaded with Complementary Split Ring Resonators

Abstract

A miniaturized multiband antenna using half mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) loaded with complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) is presented. Antenna dimension reduced by using of HMSIW technology. The CSRRs applied to HMSIW to produce two more resonance frequency below the characteristic waveguide cut-off frequency therefore antenna resonate on three frequencies. Finally, upper CSRR added on the patch to motivate fourth resonance. Proposed antenna designed to operate in 2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz, 4.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz for use in ISM, WPAN, WiMAX, WLAN, and WBAN applications.
