Virtual Campus Tour

Abstract

This studys main goal is to scientifically assess whether students react favourably to the virtual campus tour. A website and virtual reality were both used in the creation of this application. Users can traverse this virtual tour while hearing narration and background noise. Additionally, readers can read summaries of each Faculty department. Each panorama has a hotspot that enables viewers to continue their local exploration. To create 3600 effects, all photographs are blended using the 3D Vista Virtual Tour software. Usability tests are carried out to get the users response to the virtual campus tour, to improve the prototype, and to measure the level of user convenience and satisfaction. Measurement of student responses is done using questionnaires and interviews. 71 responders received a questionnaire about student responses. The virtual campus tour was well welcomed, and all of the respondents believed that it may draw users to help market the university.
