A Novel Bandstop Filter with Multiple Complementary Split-Ring Resonators

Abstract

In this paper, a novel bandstop filter (BSF) with complementary split-ring resonators (CSRRs) is proposed. There are two resonance frequencies in proposed BSF. For each resonance frequency, two CSRR units are newly realized for BSF application. The equivalent circuit of the proposed BSF and its lumped circuit parameters are summarized and discussed. Compared with the former work, by adjusting the geometric dimensions of each CSRR and their inter-resonator coupling of each CSRR unit, two resonance frequencies and their bandwidth can be designed arbitrary. Finally, one BSF circuit is fabricated with 13.1% fractional bandwidth (FBW) for measuring at the stopband of 20 dB, and the results from measurements show favorable agreement with the EM simulation results.
