Microstructures and mechanical properties of Ti3SiC2/Al2O3 and Ti3SiC2-TiC/Al2O3 composite ceramics by modifying Al2O3 content via in-situ synthesized

Abstract

This is the first study on the synthesis of high-content Ti3SiC2/Al2O3 composites employing a hot-press sintering in situ reaction to evaluate the influence of Al2O3 content on the Ti3SiC2 production process as well as the effect of dispersed TiC particles on fracture toughness.
