Smart grids use the potential of information technology and advanced analytics to intelligently supply energy via bidirectional communication while also meeting environmental criteria through the facilitation of green technology integration. Communication technology's fundamental vulnerability has exposed the system to a slew of security concerns. Several survey publications have addressed these issues and proposed solutions. The majority of these publications, however, categorized assaults based on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, but they did not include responsibility. Furthermore, present solutions are focused on preventing individual assaults or defending certain components, but there is no comprehensive method to securing the complete system. The authors evaluate the security requirements, describe some serious cyber-attacks, and present a cyber-security approach to identify and counter these assaults in this work.
